Bio



Sergio Calderón. Born in Santander, Spain, 1978. He is a musician, filmmaker, writer, visual artist and photographer. Sergio Calderón lives and works in London. As a visual artist and photographer, his work has appeared in various books and photobooks and exhibited in art galleries and museums internationally, including Barbican London, CCCB Barcelona, Centre Pompidou Paris, Intelligentsia Gallery 智先画廊 Beijing and Gazelli Art House London.

Calderón has been active musically since the 1990's and composed the soundtracks for most of his films. He was part of the band MU from 2015 to 2018 along with Céli Lee. They continued to record together and released their first album “The Eternal Dice” as Sergio Calderón & Céli Lee in June 2020. Their latest project “Iron String” was released in April 2021 via ENTERTAINING VIOLENCE and includes a book with a selection of his writings and poems.

For many years, Sergio Calderón has written, directed, photographed, edited and produced a multitude of short films and music videos.

Sergio Calderón has been featured in magazines and press such as Artnet, Wall Street International, FT, Timeout, Artforum, Artsy, artinasia, ARTnews, Aesthetica Magazine, The Creators Project, Design Week, VICE Magazine, IdN Magazine, It’s Nice That, African Paper, Live Eye TV, A Closer Listen, The Attic, Aural Aggravation, Dublab, The Beijinger and Tokyo Gig Guide.

In 2021, Sergio Calderón completed his first novel, "The Dark Days Are the Ones I Have to Paint".
