LUCILE
2016

LUCILE is a photo story that took place on 15th November 2015 in Paris, at a house in the Quartier Pigalle. The subject was Lucile, whom I met in March 2015 for a film project I was working on. Around that time I began to think about making a story about her. I imagined her in different situations and scenarios. I was devising an abstract story. But in the end, I didn’t end up making any of this. I just wanted to discover more about Lucile. We didn’t have much time, as I photographed Lucile on a day off from her final exams. I brought her to a place, with a certain atmosphere, allowing enough space for her to improvise, to be herself.

LUCILE, a photo story was released as a limited edition photobook in 2016 via ENTERTAINING VIOLENCE.

During the time I was working on the book I also spent time recording and improvising with guitar. Some of the material that was left out from the book and one of those recordings are the source for a short film. LUCILE, the film was screened during one of the concerts with my band MU in Tokyo, Japan 2016.
