Raúl Ruiz A Film by Sergio Calderón 2014 Synopsis 'The 25th July 2014 was a magical evening at the Serpentine Gallery. For the birthday celebration of the late filmmaker Raúl Ruiz, Serpentine Pavilion prepared an homage to the pioneering director and polymath featuring screenings, music, talks, readings and food, inspired by Ruiz's work. The evening brought together collaborators and friends such as Melvil Poupaud, Paulo Branco, Valeria Sarmiento, Jorge Arriagada, Marisa Paredes and Waldo Rojas. We are always surprised that how little is known about the Chilenian filmmaker, so we wanted to use this experience as an opportunity to create a piece inspired by him. 'Raúl Ruiz' is an homage to the master, a journey into his work and how we experience it. The film uses footage of some of his works, such as La ville des pirates, Mammame, Généalogies d'un crime, Le temps retrouvé, Combat d'amour en songe and Klimt.
