Last Space Remaining / Chapter 0 Writings, Poems & Notes 2022 Synopsis Last Space Remaining is a project that I initiated in 2008. More than a project it’s a device that allows me to search, to explore, to learn, without the intent of developing any particular body of work. But I did create artworks, videos, music, and writings. I see them as notes, materials for learning, for creating, for later. Later, in the Summer of 2022, I combined some of my artworks, videos and writings from Last Space Remaining with artworks, videos and writings by the artist Céli Lee. We created a website in which the works and writings were explored without any particular order. One had to go out and walk this digital forest, find their own path to discover the work. We called the project Chapter 0. At the same time we created an account on the most ephemeral medium, or social media, Instagram, we updated it with a version of the work, creating brand new tags with our writings. Chapter 0 went out unseen in this other forest, the works were like songbirds hidden between the branches, and the runners passed by oblivious to their song. But isn’t the task of the artist to walk anonymously, to stop and observe alone, on roads less traveled? Last Space Remaining / Chapter 0 was released online via ENTERTAINING VIOLENCE between Aug 18 – Nov 25 2022. |
